Launching the Furality Asset Manager (FAM)

When first launching FAM a sign in window will appear which will take you to your web browser. After signing in to your account you will get a message that says ‘Success!’.
Any assets which are available to your registration tier will now be an option in FAM.

Badges

  • Under Assets > Badge, you can find all of your current and past Furality badges

    image.png
  • They’re sorted via your level of registration. You can access badges from previous Furality events here. You can expand each Furality category and select Download to add them to your project.

  • Once downloaded and added to the project, they will be available in your Unity project under Assets > Furality > Furality XXXX (The convention you downloaded from) > Avatar Assets > Badges. Often there is a README file in their to help guide users on attaching the badge to their avatar and changing the name on it manually

  • Alternatively, users can install the Badge Maker to help them customize the name on their badge. This is a tool built directly into the Furality Asset Manager which allows you to change the text on your badge. It’s very nifty!

Badge Maker

  • To install the Badge Maker, you can go into FAM and go Assets > Tools and select Download underneath the current Furality you’re customizing the badge for

    image.png
  • Once installed, you should restart their Unity project and next you open the Furality tab at the top, you should see the Badge Maker

    image.png
  • You can input any name and title, and select the correct categories from the dropdown and select Create Badge

  • Once created, the material on the badge (Unless the auto-apply checkbox is unchecked) will automatically be overwritten with a version of the material with your name and pronouns on it. You can go into Assets > Furality > Furality XXXX > Avatar Assets > Badges > [Reg level] to find your badge prefab that you can parent and position to your avatar

Assets

  • Assets are located in the Assets > Assets tab in the FAM. Just like badges, here assets are sorted by your registration level. Users can select the reg level they’re at followed by the specific Furality convention they’re looking for assets from. Users can download their assets and they will become available in their Unity folder explorer at Assets > Furality > Furality XXXX > Avatar Assets where users can drag and drop the assets wherever they’d like

Shaders

  • In the FAM under Assets > Shaders, you can expand the Furality shader version you’re looking for and select the Download button to install it.

  • Once installed, you can manually swap to the shader by selecting it in the material properties of your avatar

  • Alternatively, you can download the shaders directly via the Furality Shader Repository link: ‘ https://furality.github.io/vcc-packages/
